A turtle creeps on land. This characteristic shape of rock is seen from land and from the Cretan sea in Sarakiniko Bay. The metamorph rock in red and green colors is typical for the northeastern part of Gavdos, between Sarakiniko Bay and Karavé harbour.

Similar metamorph rock, in red and green colors, near Karave, the harbour of Gavdos. This type of rock originates from deep down in the Earth where it has been transformed by high pressure and temperature.
